What is Assisted Living?

It's time we talked to everyone about assisted living.  We realize that not everyone fully understands what it means, so we're going to do our best to explain it to those of you who have questions in regards to its nature.

It encompasses of a facilities and locations, which might be adding to some of the confusion.  Some buildings are high-rises, but the facilities can also be located in residential neighborhood.  There can be anywhere from a handful of residents, all the way up to several hundred.  Deciding on what sort of location is best for you or your parents is a personal decision, but a member of our team would be happy to show you around Copeland and explain in detail what we're all about here.

Assisted living is basically an option that combines housing, support services and health care all in one package.  Although it has traditionally only been offered to seniors, it has recently become an option for slightly younger residents who suffer from an early onset of conditions that normally inflict seniors.  At Copeland, though, we specialize in offering the service for seniors.  The point is, the service is for people who can't help themselves and whose families can no longer take care of them on their own.

We provide our assisted living residents with access to all of the common grounds.  Three meals are provided each day, as well as laundry service, medication administration, and assistance with bathing, dressing and toileting as needed.  Take your time and do your research; we're here to answer your questions.  When you're ready, we will be happy to provide qualified assistance.

The Importance of Staying Active in Senior Living Communities

What makes Copeland Oaks one of the most attractive senior living communities to our residents and prospective residents is our wide variety of available activities. Whether you're looking to spend some time fishing on our lake or to just have a fitness center to exercise in, we offer all kinds of activities that will keep you engaged and motivated.

No matter what your age is, your happiness is strongly tied to your mental and physical fitness. At Copeland Oaks we understand how important it is to be able to keep participating in the things that interest you when you decide to live somewhere new.

The activities we offer will keep you feeling strong and mentally sharp. If exercise isn't of much interest to you, we offer many educational opportunities that other senior living communities don't.  Our residents enjoy going to concerts, sporting events and theater productions. You can even audit classes from the nearby University of Mount Union. Our special partnerships with organizations in the area give our residents access to all kinds of cultural activities.

If you enjoy being creative, we offer a woodworking shop and art studios. No matter what interests you most, Copeland Oaks has something for everyone.
